Chevrolet Colorado 2010 Change Oil Life Reset

Chevrolet Colorado 2010 Change Oil Life Reset

The Colorado and its twin, the GMC Canyon, are surpassed by their competitors in just about every category. The unrefined five-cylinder engine lacks punch and doesn't offer a fuel-economy advantage over competing V6s. It had to work hard to power the crew cab we tested. The 3.5-liter grew to 3.7 liters in 2007. Handling is sound but unexceptional. The ride is unsettled, and the body constantly quivers. Despite relatively small dimensions for a truck, the 48-foot turning circle is huge. Electronic stability control is standard and a 5.3-liter V8 is available. Curtain air bags are now standard but the IIHS side-crash result is poor.

Engine Oil Life System
The engine oil life system calculates engine oil life based on vehicle use and displays a DIC message when it is necessary to change the engine oil and filter.

Resetting the Oil Life System
1. Turn the ignition to ON/RUN, with the engine off.
2. Press and release the stem in the lower center of the instrument cluster until the OIL LIFE message is displayed.
3. Once the alternating OIL LIFE and RESET messages appear, press and hold the stem until several beeps sound. This confirms that the oil life system has been reset.
4. Turn the key to LOCK/OFF
