Complete Instruction Ford F-series Oil Warning Light Reset Tutorial
Please Follow the Instruction Below!

  1. Turn the ignition to the “on” position, but do not start the engine.
  2. Use the directional pad on the steering wheel and scroll through the settings area under the heading menu
  3. Go to Settings > Vehicle > Oil Life Reset
  4. Push and hold OK until it resets to 100%
  5. Turn off the ignition and then restart the engine

To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change Ford F 250SD Series. From year 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 (approximately 7,500 miles [12,000 km] or six months) perform the following.

Switch the ignition ON, do not start the engine.
Press and release the SELECT/RESET button to display “OIL LIFE XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”.
Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button for two seconds and release. Oil life is set to 100% and “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” is displayed.
Note: To change oil life 100% miles value from 7,500 miles (12,000 km) or six months to another value, proceed to Step 5.
Once “OIL LIFE SET TO XXX%” is displayed, release and press the SELECT/RESET button to change the oil life start value. Each release and press will reduce the value by 10%.
XX% OIL LIFE CHANGE SOON (Gas engine only) – Displayed when an oil change will soon be required and shows the percentage of oil life left.

OIL CHANGE REQUIRED (Gas engine only) – Displayed when the oil life left reaches 0%, the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message will be displayed. OIL LIFE OK displays after you have changed the oil.

Reset Ford F150 Truck Oil Change Light:
These procedures will work on any Ford F150, F250, or F350 truck and should be performed every time the vehicle is serviced to reset the oil life back to 100%. Your oil change is one of the most important services that you can perform on your vehicle to keep it running and your oil change reminder light helps you stay on top of that.

2009-2015

  1. Press and release the SETUP button to display “Oil Life XXX% Hold Reset = New”
  2. Press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds and release to reset oil life to 100%
2012-2015

  1. Use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons to scroll to the Settings menu and press the RIGHT arrow to enter the submenu
  2. Scroll to the Vehicle menu and press the RIGHT arrow
  3. Scroll to the Oil Life Reset menu and press the OK button
2009-2011

  1. Press and release the SELECT/RESET button to scroll through the menus until “Hold Reset For Setup Menu” appears
  2. Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button for 2 seconds or until the “Oil Life XXX% Hold Reset = New” message appears and then release
  3. Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button for 2 seconds again or until “Oil Life Set To 100%” appears
  4. Release the button and the oil life is now reset
If above tutorial fail. Please Follow the other instruction below.

1. Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine).
2. Press and release the SETUP button to display “OIL LIFE XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”.
3. Press and hold the RESET button for two seconds and release to reset the oil life to 100%.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

HOLD RESET FOR SETUP MENU
Press and hold the SELECT/RESET stem when this message is displayed
to get into the SETUP menu. The following setup items are available:
OIL LIFE
This displays the remaining oil life.
An oil change is required whenever indicated by the message center and
according to the recommended maintenance schedule. USE ONLY
RECOMMENDED ENGINE OILS.
To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change
(approximately 7,500 miles [12,000 km] or 12 months) perform the
following:
1. Press and release the SELECT/RESET stem to display “OIL LIFE
XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”.
2. Press and hold the SELECT/RESET stem for two seconds and release
to reset the oil life to 100%.
Note: To change oil life 100% miles value from 7,500 miles (12,000 km)
or 12 months to another value, proceed to Step 3.
3. Once “OIL LIFE SET TO XXX%” is displayed, release and press the
SELECT/RESET stem to change the Oil Life Start Value. Each release
and press will reduce the value by 10%.

When this message appears, press the RESET button and the message
center will begin to cycle through the following systems and provide a
status of the item if needed.
Note: Some systems show a message only if a condition is present.
1. XXX% OIL LIFE
2. DOOR STATUS
3. BRAKE SYSTEM
4. XX MILES TO E FUEL LEVEL XXX
5. TBC GAIN = XX.X
NO TRAILER (if equipped and no trailer connected)
6. TBC GAIN = XX.X
OUTPUT = ////// (if equipped and trailer connected)
7. MYKEY DISTANCE (if programmed)
8. MYKEY(S) PROGRAMMED
9. ADMIN KEYS PROGRAMMED
OIL LIFE

Note: Oil life start value of 100% equals 7,500 miles (12,000 km) or
12 months. For example, setting oil life start value to 60% sets the oil
life start value to 4,500 miles (7,200 km) and 219 days.
