Volkswagen Golf Complete Oil Reminder Reset Tutorial


Please follow the oil reset tutorial below!
Golf service interval, please follow these instructions:
1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
2. Acess the settings menu:
i) Use the windshield wiper lever toggle switch or
ii) Use the buttons on the right hand side of the multi function steering wheel
3. Select the "Settings" menu followed by the "Service" submenu. Select "Reset" and confirm.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
or
2.With the ignition switch off press and hold the 0,0 button.
3. Turn the igntion on (do not start the engine) and the service interval display is now in reset mode. Release the 0,0 button.
4. Within 20 seconds press the min button and wait for the display to switch back to the normal display.
5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

To reset the 2016 Volkswagen Golf oil change service reminder, please follow these instructions:
1) With the ignition turned off, hold the 0.0 button pressed.
2) Switch on the ignition. Wait until “Reset oil change service?” appears in the display.
3) Release the button 0.0 button. The service interval display is now in reset mode.
4) Push the 0.0 button once shortly. After a brief period, the display switches back to the normal display.
5) Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

2006-2015:

  1. Turn your key into the on position
  2. Select the Settings menu
  3. Select the Service submenu
  4. Select Reset option
  5. Press OK
  6. Press OK again to confirm

2000-2005:

  1. Turn ignition to off position
  2. Press and hold the Trip reset button
  3. Release the Trip Reset button when it says “OIL” or “INSP”
  4. Turn the minute knob until the odometer is reset to zero
  5. Turn the ignition off

1993-1999:

  1. Turn the key into the on position
  2. Press and hold the Trip Reset button
  3. Continue holding button and turn the key to off position
  4. Release button
  5. Press and hold Minute Reset button
  6. Press Trip Reset button until it says “IN01”
  7. Turn key to on position and then back off

1990-1992: Your Volkswagen service button must be reset with a scanner at your local Volkswagen dealership or service center.

Turn car fully off, hold the '0.0' button on the gauge cluster, turn the car on (but don't crank) and release it. When it asks 'reset oil interval' hit OK on the steering wheel.Just tried this and pressing OK on the steering wheel did not work for me. Instead when the question is asked, I hit the "0.0" button and it was reset.

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Press and hold the 0,0 button (located to the right of the instrument cluster).
3. Turn the igntion on (do not start the engine) and release the 0,0 button.
4. Briefly press the double square button (located to the left of the instrument cluster).
5. Turn the ignition off, turn it back on and go back in the ''oil life'' menu to verify the indicator has been reset.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the “On” position, but do not start the engine
  2.  Use the buttons on the right hand side of the multi function steering wheel

  1. Use the rocker switch on the windshield wiper lever
  2. Select SETTING
  3. Scroll down and select SERVICE
  4. Select “Reset” and confirm
  5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition and turn the car to the “ON” position. Don’t start the engine.

Step 2: Select the “SETTINGS” menu. Select the menu from the arm that controls the windshield wiper, or the controls on the steering wheel.

Step 3: Select “SERVICE” from the submenu. Then, select “RESET” and press the “OK” button to reset the display.

Step 4: Press “OK” button once more to confirm the reset.

Or:

Step 1: With the ignition “OFF”, press and hold the “0.0/ SET” button. This button should be located on the right side of the instrument cluster.

Step 2: While holding down the “0.0/ SET” button, turn ignition to the “ON” position. Don’t start the vehicle.

Step 3: Release the “0.0/ SET” button and depress the “CLOCK” one time. The “CLOCK” button should be located on the left side of the instrument cluster.

Step 4: Wait for the display to go back to normal. After maybe one or two seconds, the display panel will turn back to the normal display setting, indicating the service interval has been reset.

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Press and hold the 0,0 button (located to the right of the instrument cluster).
  3. Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine) and release the 0,0 button.
  4. Briefly, press the double square button (located to the left of the instrument cluster).
  5. Turn the ignition off, turn it back on and go back to the ”oil life” menu to verify the indicator has been reset.

(1) Get into the driver's seat and make sure all the doors are closed
(2) Insert the ignition key
(3) With the ignition switched-off, press and hold the "0.0" button (it's on the lower center portion of the dash)
(4) With the "0.0" button depressed, switch-on the ignition (but don't start the engine)
(5) Once the ignition is turned-on, release the "0.0" button
(6) Press the "0.0" button again to reset the service reminder message.
