Help Toyota Corolla Engine Oil Warning Light Reset Tutorial

Toyota Corolla Engine Oil Warning Light Reset Tutorial

Roomy inside without feeling large outside, the Toyota Corolla is also impressively quiet. Corolla also has excellent fuel economy, while still posting good acceleration times, handling competently and providing a comfortable ride. The one drawback -- some of our drivers were not comfortable with the driving position. Overall, though, the Corolla is a fine choice.

Please follow the Oil Reset Instruction below.

1. Press the "ENGINE START STOP" switch once (do not start engine) or turn ignition key to run (one position before starting engine).
2. Ensure Trip Metre A reading is shown. Turn the ignition off.
3. While pressing the DISP or display change button, press the "ENGINE START STOP" switch once (do not start engine) or turn the key in the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
4. Continue to press and hold the button until the trip meter displays "000000".
5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Other Oil Reset Tutorial:

  1. Turn off your engine while the odometer is in the regular total mileage mode, not “Trip A” or “Trip B”
  2. Push and hold the mileage reset button while turning the key into the “on” position
  3. You will see the odometer digits countdown to zero and once they all are at zero, the maintenance light has reset and you may release the button
Other Oil Reset Tutorial:

For the 2006 Corolla, first make sure display is in ODO (not TRIP A or B). Turn ignition to LOCK. Press and hold the trip reset button. Turn ignition to ON (do not start engine) and watch the dashes count down until it displays 000000. Release the reset button and you are done.

Other Oil Reset Tutorial:

If you started with the odometer display in the right position(odometer, Trip A, or Trip B) you will see some lines on the odometer reading instead of numbers when they disappear for a second and then start flashing the oil light has been reset. You can now let go of the trip reset button and turn off your car.

It does take a little bit to reset. If you don’t see anything flashing after 10 seconds try starting with your odometer display in either Trip A or Trip B and go again with the ignition switch off and turning it to run while holding the trip reset button.

Other Oil Reset Tutorial:

  1. Turn ignition key to ‘ON’ and press the odometer button until the display reads  Trip A or B not ODO.
  2. Turn ignition key to OFF.
  3. Hold in the same button you used in step 1.
  4. While holding the button in, turn ignition key to ‘ON’.
  5. ODOMETER will change to
  6. 5 dashes – – – – –
  7. Then 4 dashes – – – –
  8. Then 3 dashes – – –
  9. Then 2 dashes – –
  10. Then 1 dash –
  11. Then all zeros 0 0 0
  12. Then your mileage
  13. The Maintenance Required light should blink and go out if not repeat step by step instructions.
Please follow the tutorial.
