How to Reset Oil Light on Ford Galaxy 2006-2018

The Ford Galaxy is a large multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) produced by Ford Europe. It was first introduced in June 1995, and since then has spanned over three generations. From 2006, the Galaxy has been developed alongside the closely related Ford S-Max using the Ford Mondeo's platform.  

Please follow the oil reset instruction below. 

Ford Galaxy Oil Reset Method 1
  1. With the ignition off, press the reset button under the mileage counter.
     
  2. Hold in reset button while turning the ignition on.
    After about 4 or 5 seconds (up to 30 seconds in some cases) the display should reset itself
     
  3. Release the button and turn the ignition off It may be necessary to repeat this process 
Ford Galaxy Oil Reset Method 2
 
  1. Turn off the ignition
     
  2. Close all doors.
     
  3. Turn the ignition key to position II, If your Escape has push-button start, press and hold the ” 
  4. Start” for two seconds without touching the brake pedal.
     
  5. Next, simultaneously press the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal and hold for a minimum of 20 seconds, until a “Service: Oil reset in prog.” message shows on the instrument cluster display.
     
  6. Continue holding the gas and brake pedals until the display says “Service: Oil reset complete”.
     
  7. Press the OK button
     
  8. The oil change reminder indicator will turn off. This confirms that the reset procedure has been correctly completed.
 Ford Galaxy Oil Reset Method 3
 
  1. Ensure ignition is switched off.
     
  2. Press and hold the trip meter reset button whilst turning on ignition..
     
  3. Hold trip reset until four dashes "----" appear in display and then release the trip button.
     
  4. Turn off ignition.
 
 Ford Galaxy Oil Reset Method 4

  1. Turn the ignition on and wait for the service message to display
     
  2. Press and hold both the brake and accelerator pedals down
     
  3. Continue to hold them down as first, the service message will dissapear and the a few seconds later a confirmation message that the service/oil warning interval has been reset
     
  4. Release both pedals
     
  5. Cycle ignition off and on to complete.
