BMW Z4 Oil Reset

The BMW E85/E86 is the first generation of BMW Z4 roadsters and coupes, which were produced from 2002 to 2008. The E85/E86 replaced the Z3 and is the third model in the BMW Z Series. Initial models were in the roadster (E85) body style, with the coupe (E86) body style being added in 2006.
As per the Z3, the Z4 was manufactured solely in Greer, South Carolina.
The M model - the Z4M - is powered by the S54 straight-six engine.

BMW Z4  2002-2005 OIL RESET

  1. Turn ignition off. Press and hold "TRIP ODOMETER"button and turn ignition to "ACCESSORY 1". 
  2. After 5 seconds, "OIL SERVICE RESET (RE)" or "INSPEC-TION RESET (RE)" will display. Release button. 
  3. Press and hold button again. After 5 seconds, "RESET" will flash. 
  4. Release button. Press button once more. New interval is displayed. 
  5. Press and hold button again, after 5 seconds "RE" or "RESET" will flash, release button.
  6. Turn ignition off.

BMW Z4  2006-2013 OIL RESET

  1. Turn ignition to Terminal 15, which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button. 
  2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button on the instrument cluster for 10 seconds. 
  3. The upper display will be illuminated with a service item. 
  4. The lower display will indicate the remaining time or mileage left for the service item. 
  5. Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the condition based service items. 
  6. Press and hold the SET/RESET button again and the lower display will indicate "OK" or "DUE". 
  7. Pressing the SET/RESET button again will allow the "RESET" to appear in the lower display for  that service. 
  8. Releasing and reapplying the button one more time will reset the service displayed in the upper window only.

BMW Z4  2014- ABOVE MODEL OIL RESET

  1. Press the start/stop button once (do not start the engine). 
  2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button until the service indicator light appears. 
  3. Press the SET/RESET button repeatedly to scroll the service menu. 
  4. With the oil change interval highlighted, press and hold the SET/RESET button. 
  5. When "RESET" appears,release the SET/RESET button and press and hold again. 
  6. Reset complete when "OK" and new mileage appears.
  7. Turn ignition off.
