BMW 7 Series E65 E66 E67 E68 Oil Reset

The BMW E65 is the fourth generation of the BMW 7 Series range of full-size luxury sedans, and was produced from 2001 to 2008. The variants of the range are:
sedan (E65 model code)
long-wheelbase sedan (E66 model code)
armoured car sedan (E67 model code, marketed as High Security 7 Series)
hydrogen-powered sedan (E68 model code, marketed as Hydrogen 7)
The E65 was the first BMW vehicle to include the iDrive infotainment system, the new brand design language, active anti-roll bars, a 6-speed automatic transmission, an electronic Smart Key (dispensing with the traditional metallic key), and night vision. The 760i model also utilised the world's first production V12 engine to use direct injection.
In late 2008, the E65 7 Series was replaced by the 7 Series .


2000-2005 BMW 7 Series Oil Reset

  1. Turn ignition to the "ON" position.
  2. Press and hold the "RESET" button for 10 seconds to display menu in speedometer.
  3. Press the "RESET" or "LOWER AXIAL (FAS)" button on the turn signal to scroll through the menu.
  4. Select "ENGINE OIL" and press and hold "RESET" button until menu is displayed in tachometer.
  5. Press "RESET" button to select "SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE".
  6. Press and hold "RESET" button for a few seconds.Turn off ignition.

2006-2013 7 Series Oil Reset

  1. Turn ignition to Terminal 15, which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button. 
  2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button on the instrument cluster for 10 seconds. 
  3. The upper display will be illuminated with a service item. 
  4. The lower display will indicate the remaining time or mileage left for the service item. 
  5. Pressing the button repeatedly will allow the display to scroll through all of the condition based service items. 
  6. Press and hold the SET/RESET button again and the lower display will indicate "OK" or "DUE". 
  7. Pressing the SET/RESET button again will allow the "RESET" to appear in the lower display for  that service. 
  8. Releasing and reapplying the button one more time will reset the service displayed in the upper window only.

2014-and Above Model 7 Series Oil Reset

  1. Press the start/stop button once (do not start the engine). 
  2. Press and hold the SET/RESET button until the service indicator light appears. 
  3. Press the SET/RESET button repeatedly to scroll the service menu. 
  4. With the oil change interval highlighted, press and hold the SET/RESET button. 
  5. When "RESET" appears,release the SET/RESET button and press and hold again. 
  6. Reset complete when "OK" and new mileage appears.
  7. Turn ignition off.
