The Ford Transit Connect is a compact panel van developed by Ford Europe and derived from the Ford Focus. The first generation was designed by Peter Horbury and introduced in 2002 to replace the older Ford Escort and Fiesta-based Courier van ranges, which had ceased production in the same year. It has been imported to the North American market since the 2010 model year. In North America, the Transit Connect does not have a direct predecessor; the closest vehicle to its size was the standard-length Ford Aerostar cargo van, which ceased production in 1997.

The Ford Tourneo Connect, a leisure activity vehicle, is a Transit Connect with side windows and rear seats. All Transit Connects bound for the United States are imported in this configuration to avoid the 25% "chicken tax" on imported light trucks.In 2013, US Customs told Ford that they must stop this practice of importing vans disguised as passenger cars.

1. Turn off the ignition
2. Close all doors.
3. Turn the ignition key to position II, If your vehicle has push-start button, press and hold the ” Start” for two seconds without touching the brake pedal.
4. Next, simultaneously press the GAS PEDAL and the BRAKE PEDAL and hold it for a minimum of 20 seconds, until a “Service: Oil reset in prog.” message shows on the instrument cluster display.
5. Continue holding the gas and brake pedals until the display says “Service: Oil reset complete”.
6. The oil change reminder indicator will turn off. This confirms that the reset procedure has been correctly completed.

To reset the 2017 Ford Transit Connect oil life after an oil change service, please follow these instructions:

1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).

2. Press the brake and gas pedals at the same time; after 3 seconds the "Service: Oil reset in prog." message will appear and after 25 seconds the "Service: Oil reset complete" message will appear.

3. Release the brake and gas pedals.

4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Turn ignition switch on. Don't start.

With your feet, press accelerator and brake and hold. Screen will tell you when it is finished.

1. Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine
2. * For vehicles with push-button start, press and hold the START button for 2 seconds without pressing the brake pedal to put in ON mode

Resetting the Oil Life Monitoring System Only reset the oil life monitoring system after changing the engine oil and oil filter.

1.Switch the ignition on. Do not start theengine. For vehicles with push-buttonstart, press and hold the start buttonfor two seconds without pressing thebrake pedal. Do not start the engine.

2. Press the accelerator and brake pedalsat the same time.

3. Keep the accelerator and brake pedalsfully pressed.

4. After three seconds, a message confirming that the reset is in progress will be displayed.

5. After 25 seconds, a message confirming that the reset is complete will be displayed.

6. Release the accelerator and brakepedals.

7.The message confirming that the resetis complete will no longer be displayed.

8. Switch the ignition off. For vehicles withpush-button start, press the startbutton to switch the ignition off

Simultaneously press the accelerator and brake pedals and hold them in the fully pressed position

After 3 seconds, the message center displays “Service: Oil Reset In Prog”

Continue to hold both the accelerator and brake pedals for 25 seconds or until the display shows “Service: Oil Reset Complete”

Release both pedals and place ignition in the OFF position/mode
