Ford Focus Engine Oil Life Reset
The Ford Focus is a compact car (C-segment in Europe) manufactured by the Ford Motor Company since 1998. Designed under Alex Trotman's Ford 2000 plan, which aimed to globalize model development and sell one compact vehicle worldwide, the Focus was primarily designed by Ford of Europe's German and British teams [1]. The Focus was released in July 1998 in Europe, succeeding the Ford Escort, and replaced the Mazda Familia-derived Ford Laser in Asia and Oceania along with the Laser-based North American Escort. Wayne Stamping & Assembly started producing the Focus for North America with sales beginning in 1999, ending by May 2018. The fourth-generation Ford Focus was revealed on the 10th of April, 2018.

Oil Life Reset
WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings .
Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
General Procedure
1. Without starting the engine, place the ignition in the RUN mode.
2. Simultaneously press the accelerator and brake pedals and hold them in the
fully pressed position.
3. After 3 seconds, the message center displays" Service: oil reset in prog.".
4. Continue to hold both the accelerator and brake pedals.
5. The" Service: oil reset in prog." message disappears after 25 seconds and
the" Service: Oil reset complete" is displayed.
6. Release both the accelerator and brake pedals.
7. Place the ignition in the OFF mode.
8. The oil life reset procedure is complete.
Oil Change Reminder Lamp: Reset Procedure
Resetting the oil life monitoring system
1. Turn the ignition key to the on position. Do not start the engine. For
vehicles with push-button start, press and hold the START/STOP button for two
seconds without pressing the brake pedal. DO NOT attempt to start the engine.
2. Press both the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time.
3. Keep both pedals fully pressed.
4. After three seconds, the Service: Oil reset in prog. message will be
displayed.
5. After 25 seconds, the Service: Oil reset complete message will be displayed.
6. Release both the accelerator and brake pedals.
7. The Service: Oil reset complete message will no longer be displayed.
8. Rotate the key to the off position.
NOTE: For vehicles with push-start button start, press the START/STOP button to
turn the vehicle off completely.
